I am still ridiculously amused that you and Hyun Woo both wrote about hunting she-wolves, and yet such different stories came out of that. "Only the wanton fool hunts the she-wolf" indeed.
Good idea. I'm hoping that once Oceanus is published as an ebook for example, the navigation will be easier as it would be a link rather than hundreds of posts. One day though, substack categorisation ad segments will be better organised. It can only get better, surely?
[Thank you for subscribing btw! - you may not like all of my stuff (Katrina gets a bit controversial at times) but I am continually minded to think more about my readers and adjust accordingly - so any feedback welcome - the Sunday thing I've got going is supposed to be a big mish-mash of short little pieces, so if you think you can do a fairytale in around 1000 words that's as good as your squeal little piggy one then I'd love to publish it. I know I only have 18 subscribers so far so you won't get that much exposure but one has to start somewhere eh!].
I was going to say that's true about ebooks (even though I prefer a physical object - like vinyl of course) - my book (collection of short stories plus some essays) works really well because of the hyperlinked contents page. Ah - on that note, if you go to Shipyard Ahoy (https://inadifferentplace.substack.com/p/shipyard-ahoy?r=2s9hod - this was my other entry for the lunar awards - it's great fun!) in my intro to that there's a free promo code for my book. That's the one that contains the Tempest-inspired story I mentioned (QTS-19/Mirror Mirror) - this has the POV-switching thing going on as well, as a first contact story simply alternating between the humans and the ETI (who know about human social history so they're understandably wary), and it does work really well IMO. Plus added cognitive dissonance.
I just love playing around with writing/narratives and templates and stuff - except you have to always be wary of ending up sounding pretentious! My excuse is 'postmodern irony'...
You do have to start somewhere and I hope my subscription encourages you to take it further! I'll have a read later on. It's the last day of the Easter holidays here but I'll get some calm time later. Looking forward to it.
New friends! I love it. :D

Funny, isn't it? Yes, sorry, you're stuck with me now. It's like that team you start a new job with.
New friends, yes! Y'all are talented writers and honestly just lovely people :) 🍻 cheers
Thanks for adopting me, my new best friend!🙌
There's just so much out there! And not enough hours in the day!
I very much feel the same way so I'm going to have a recap post or something like that once a month. I don't want my readers to get burnout either 😅
That's a really good idea. I recently did an 'index' (pinned post) - otherwise it becomes a maze!
