Oh wow, Hanna - I absolutely love this! Every single character has such a rich backstory! I would LOVE to see more of Giles and Athena's toxic marriage!! Such a compelling relationship to delve into. I wonder why he married her in the first place... (hint hint, wink wink, please please write that story!) This is awesome!
Cozy post Edwardian story with a Victorian interlude. Tight, simple, elegant. A quick satisfying read. Good details. Absolutely lovely. Considering the style it's written in, good restraint on the killing scene. Very of the times.
And thank you for recognizing that this is a platform where people can actually you know. Express good things towards each other instead of a constant stream of bile. Because I saw that note that you made as well. I just wish I could get off Twitter.
After I read it myself, I had a female Swedish voice, read it to me. There is no particular reason the voice was Swedish, but I pictured that it was you reading it to me by a big warm hearth in a big tall crimson velvet Victorian chair, perhaps smoking a pipe. No, scratch that, not a pipe. Sipping a brandy but maybe the brandy is on fire And me and some other people are sitting on a bear rug hanging on every word. You also have the butler and a maid doing foley artist sound effects for color. The whole thing was really nice. But nice in that cozy creepy kind of way.
I love it Hanna. Really well written too. I don't know why but it gave off a warm ambient for me with subtle darkness. Sad too for Giles... Its nice to read your stories again.
Hanna, I'm listening to you read your story to survive a batch of soul-killing spreadsheets, and it's lowering my blood pressure. Ironic considering the subject matter, but such is horror. :)
Wonderfully dark tale. It's been a while since I've read a hanna Delaney. You really have a knack for the deep shadows of the gothic. Can't wait to get started on your Spider!
Such an engaging and entrancing story. I really felt drawn in by all the details and the way the story was laid out. Reminded me of something M. R. James would write🖤
Fantastic storytelling, Hanna. One of my favorite pieces from you. ✨ Thanks for letting me have a peep before everyone else! :))
You're welcome. Oh wow, that's good to know! Thanks, Sean.

Thank you very much, Emil. And thank you for the recommendation of Saki.

Secret eggs , secret children , love all the Gothic details and connections
Got to love a bit of Gothic. Glad it didn't come across as a cop-out 'oh, she's writing about Egyptian curses again' 😂 Thanks Jon.

Hahaha, I love it! You know, I was really tempted to do the audio for this but I just couldn't get Giles right. Maybe some other time.
I mean, who WOULD want to do Giles. Except maybe - you know who!
😂
Hanna! This is exquisite. I love everything about it-- the story, the atmosphere, your descriptions. Really excellent.
Thank you EJ. This collaboration has been fantastic. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

Hi Ika! Thanks. I wanted that cosy but dark vibe, and I'm glad it pulled off. Poor Giles. I know. I know. Hope you're well!
I am fortunately. Writing, however has, unfortunately, taken a sideline…
This was such a treat! Hanna, you were made for the stage! Just fantastic. And it feeds my own interest in ancient Egypt, too!
Liz, you're to kind. I am having fun doing the voice overs, but if others enjoy it, then I am thrilled.

Thank you. I will just do more if you need them 😄 I had fun.
Please do!

Hi Ken! Lovely to have you back. Happy New year. And thank you for the gothic compliment.
Oh this is delightful! 💪 Well done!
Loved the dark, gothic atmosphere of the piece.
Ohhh my goodness, what a riveting and atmospheric mystery. Gilt-edged storytelling Hanna.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.
This is excellent.
Thank you, Keith. Prompts and collabs can be quite stressful but they're also a good challenge. I enjoyed this!
I was *spellbound* all the way to the end.
I had a feeling that the old dame was dead when the maid spoke of geese hissing.
You did a great job of catching and keeping attention.
💯👍
Thanks, Joseph! Glad this was a good one for you.
Ooohhh Hanna, well played!
Thank you, Stephanie! 🥰
