Good morning and welcome to subscribers new and old!
Rather than bombard you with more fiction this week, I thought I’d do a round up of the pieces that you’ve enjoyed the most over the last six months.
Top In Fiction
I want to thank
for surprising me with a Top In Fiction medallion this week. I was so happy to see that 10 horror stories had caught her eye. There’s no one like Copycat.
Copycat is still doing the rounds.
was even talking about it this week! We are collaborating soon, you see. Stay tuned!Sick and twisted but you like it.
I both love and hate this beauty. It’s a dark, ‘horrible’ tale twisting a classic myth but I’m happy that you’re still enjoying Pygmalion.
Dealing with a microfiction addiction
Lastly, you can blame that
for dealing addictive microfiction prompts. I love collecting them from my notes and publishing them for my subscribers. What else is going on?
In case you didn’t know (and I’d be surprised because I think I go on about it too much), Oceanus is coming to an end soon. All 31 chapters of the serial will soon be done and dusted.
I struggled to decide what to do about the remaining chapters as the book is coming out on 6th September. Here’s what I settled on:
The last 7 chapters will be released in 2 instalments. This way, anyone who doesn’t want to finish the book via substack runs less risk of discovering all the spoilers and you get plenty of time to catch up if you’re currently behind. Sunday 21st and Sunday 28th July are the next two instalment days. It’s so exciting!
I will publish all chapters as that’s what I promised all those months ago. As these chapters have been shared for free since day 1, I am archiving all of Oceanus on August 29th, 2024. You will therefore have until then to catch up with the story.
After the chapters are published, I’m going to be using my Sunday slot to promote my next serial, The Devil At The Door. Find out more in August!
Have a lovely week.
Like Miguel, I wanted to thank you for the mention! - Jim
Thank you for the mention Hanna! I'm sorry, but the dealer doesn't take any responsibility for the addictive properties of Micro-fiction 😏
