Last week, Rebekah King joined me to talk all things Wuthering Heights. There’s a lot you can say about this book, and I hope that we were able to touch on some of those things.
Did you know that Wuthering Heights was also available as a child-friendly abridged classic?
A Revelation!
Something that never made any sense to me: Kate Bush’s song Wuthering Heights. I’ve never seen the TV show that this came from, so I’ve never really understood the song or the video. Now it all makes sense. Thanks Rebekah for helping me get some closure on this.
What does Wuthering Heights mean to you?
For me and Rebekah, Wuthering Heights isn’t much of a romance novel. It is for other people, though! What is your experience of Wuthering Heights? Do you think it’s a romance novel, a horror novel, a ghost story or a cautionary tale? Perhaps it means something else to you. We’d love to know!
We talked about Emily Bronte herself, originality, location, ruggedness of the northern English landscape, Victorian sensibilities, Gothic literature as well as social history and sexuality.
I’d like to give a huge shout out to
who was right there with us helping us remember the names, places and history as it disappeared from our minds. I promise we have both read this book, and have five English-related degrees between us 😂. There’s something about going live that really leaves you blank, so thank you Polly for your support. The Article In Question
