Tiny Terrors
The end of Spooktober.
Freefall
Several sharp tugs and nothing happened. No parachute for him today, or ever.
Facial
I rinsed the soap off my skin and looked into the mirror at the pale, damp face before me.
It wasn’t mine.
Invisible
I don’t mean to be a pervert but look—if you were as invisible as I am, you’d do it, too.
That’s a cute freckle by the way.
Makeover
I looked down at the bloodied teeth pooled around the plughole. My skin followed soon after.
Bloodbank
“I’m sorry, low iron means we can’t take your blood today,” she said, trying to get up out of her chair.
“Not to worry, I’ll just have some of yours.”
Reflections on Spooktober.
Have you been writing horror-themed microfiction this month? I think it was a lot of fun taking my tiny stories out onto Instagram. It’s fun seeing which ones people enjoy. I was nervous at first, because there’s always the worry that people won’t get it, or no one will like it. I think when you’re sharing your work on substack, it’s generally well-received by other writers. Out there, it’s just people scrolling, and they’re not actively looking for what you write. Scary! I had fun though, and my followers enjoyed the stories.
I’ll definitely do it again next year!
That’s all for this week! Have a great weekend.
If you really like my fiction, I currently have three novels out in the world. You can see them here.

Oh gosh! Makeover was gross. Do it again 😍
This is amazing you're getting them down to pretty much one or two sentences now. Very impressive! I enjoyed this Spooktober Series a lot. I've been focussing on Horror Microfiction myself lately, but I have noticed outside Substack, people don't really seem to know what Microfiction is, and in most cases, haven't even heard of it. There tends to be a perception that you can't really do a lot with a small word count. But of course, you can. And it's a shame more people don't give it a chance, as I think it's an incredible artform, as you've proved here... 😎
