Saying ‘hi’ just doesn’t feel like enough this morning.

God knows how many edits.
We are here. Oceanus is available in e-book, paperback and hardback. No fiction from me today because… well how could I focus on anything else today?

Writing a novel is no mean feat, and it can be a solitary existence when you're writing one. Firstly, my husband, who supported every idea, every draft and every moment that I needed to spend writing— thank you. I appreciated every proofreading session, every comment, and every critique. I would also like to thank my Substack subscribers and the wider fiction community of Substack. You are some of the most wonderful, encouraging people to be around. Thank you to
for taking a new novelist under your wing and for helping me see the road ahead. Thank you to Michael and Lesley Gough, , and . I hadn't shown you any of my novel yet but you immediately stepped forward and said "I'm backing this project." Thank you for taking a chance on me. Thank you to my best friend, Suzanne, who once said, "there are worse books out there, do you know what I mean?"— you're an absolute hero and I think about this every time I write. Thank you to Lee Robinson who made sure that I had an author website in order to look 'the real deal'. I am very much aware that this was not a horror novel but I couldn't write this page without also mentioning the team on Substack who welcomed me into the writing community with open arms. I will be forever grateful for your kindness and enthusiasm. I'll end with an additional special mention for , , , , , and last but not least, who asked to be babe dropped. There are many, many people I would like to thank for helping me see this through but it's not possible to name them all individually. This will have to do.Thank you to everyone who pre-ordered, shared and spread the word. I am eternally grateful.
This is wonderful! Congratulations! I hope it's the beginning of big things for you. Good luck with it all... 😎
Have some heartfelt congratulations from me too, Hanna - you certainly deserve it. I am also somewhat grateful and not a little flattered by your acknowledgement! But you are very welcome. Mutual support amongst us writers is very important, which kind of goes without saying. But you are worth it.
But now, of course - you do realise you may have to go through the whole thing again when you publish the next one, right?
